Award of Merit
The College Award of Merit has been established to recognize members who distinguish themselves professionally in a variety of ways based on the criteria below.
Council will recognize up to five professionals each year through special acknowledgement at the annual general meeting and profiling in College publications.
Members qualifying for an Award of Merit will fulfill any or all of the following criteria:
- Is a current or former regulated or voluntary College member
- Has demonstrated exceptional promotion of the profession by making a significant contribution to a laboratory-related event, activity, or patient outcome, which may include:
- Providing exceptional patient service
- Coordinating National Medical Laboratory Week activities
- Participating in career fairs
- Participating in convention and congress through planning and coordination (e.g., giving presentations)
- Providing excellence in work site activities (e.g., role modelling, speaking at rounds, providing in-services, starting journal clubs)
- Contributing articles for ACMLT publications
Notes: Nominations must be received by June 1 each year. Nominations received after June 1 will be deferred to the following year. Nominations will be reviewed and approved by Council. A member may only receive an Award of Merit once every three years.
