Becoming a Registered MLT

- Contact the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) at www.csmls.org to request a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). The PLA will establish Canadian equivalency in order to determine readiness to challenge the CSMLS certification examination(s).
- Once an individual has received the "Admission to Examination" notice from the CSMLS, an application can be submitted to the College.
To register:
- Complete the Initial MLT Application Form.
- Provide full payment of all applicable fees and dues.
- Attach required supporting documentation, including:
- Original PLA with CSMLS authentication stamp
- The CSMLS Admission to Examination Notice, or a copy of the CSMLS certification if examination(s) was/were successfully challenged
- Copies of any other relevant degrees or certificates
- Copies of credential evaluation reports (e.g., International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES) or World Education Services (WES))
